VETERAN ERYLE 'LUCY' ROHLSEN HAS DIED

Jan. 2, 2004 – Word has been received of the death of Eryle Alric "Lucy" Rohlsen of St. Croix.
Active in the community, particularly in veterans affairs, the World War II veteran was a long-time member of the Gentlemen of Jones and was involved with American Legion Post 85 for decades, said a release from Lt. Gov. Vargrave Richards.
Rohlsen's service as past president of the National Association of State Directors of Veterans Affairs was notable, "given that he was the only person outside the contiguous United States to hold that position," the release said. His legacy will live on in the naming of the Veterans Affairs building in Estate Richmond.
"He was a true friend of our veterans," said Richards in offering condolences to the family, friends and compatriots of Rohlsen.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the James Memorial Funeral Home.
