THE VIRGIN ISLANDS IS BECOMING AN 'URBAN SLUM'

Dear Source,
I have been reading various online newspapers in an effort to find a location in which to retire. I currently live in Dallas, Texas, in the United States. Dallas has been reported as one of the five most violent cities in the U.S. and is considered, with Fort Worth, the fifth largest metroplex in this nation.
I must comment on your islands and your news. Do you realize that you are creating an urban slum in the Virgin Islands? I have been shocked by the constant crimes of violence that your community tolerates. Your islands have so much to offer, but the crime runs off investors, and that lowers the value of your property and decreases your quality of life in the Virgin Islands.
Dr. Linda Chance
Dallas, Texas
