CRIME ON ST. THOMAS: HAS BEEN, WILL BE ONGOING

Dear Source,
The crime on St. Thomas as well as the other U.S. Virgin Islands has been an ongoing event for years with no improvement. The answer to this problem might come from some out side help. The police chief always says when addressed with the problem, "we are going to crack down on the problem." But there are no results. Is it a matter of inexperience? Is it the problem of being overwhelmed with what to do first? Whatever the problem is, it needs to be solved. There will come a time when the population of St. Thomas will be so small that the police chief won't have to worry about trying to find criminals; all he will have to do is look outside. Someone needs to swallow some pride and ask for some outside help and experience.
This couple that was robbed will have a ripple effect on quite a few people who are told of their experience. So there are all those who have been robbed or had their vacation ruined while visiting St. Thomas and then there are those coming to visit who will be robbed because nothing has changed.
