WATER EXPANSION WORK TO CLOSE SECTION OF ROAD

Jan. 30, 2004 – The Bovoni Road intersection north of the Texaco station will be closed on Monday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Water and Power Authority announced in a release Friday.
The closing is to allow crews to install water mains for the Bovoni-Thomasville water line expansion project under way across the street. The project is designed to expand WAPA's potable water distribution system to Bovoni residents.
One-way traffic will be accommodated; however, motorists are asked to follow the directions given by flaggers and to obey all traffic signs.
The work is being done with federal Community Development Block Grant funding, the WAPA release said. The grant funding is for approximately one-third of the project's $369,300 cost, with the authority supplying the matching two-thirds, or $244,300.
