CABLE TV IS CHANGING CHANNELS

Feb. 6, 2004 – If you're used to tuning in to CNN Headline News on Innovative Cable TV's Channel 39 in St. Thomas and St. John, you need to know that a change is coming. Effective March 1, Channel 39 will be home to UPN. UPN, which broadcasts on WCVI-TV, currently reaches viewers on Channel 27.
Headline News will move to Channel 60 on March 1. Innovative spokesman Tom Dunn did not know what would occupy Channel 27.
Dunn said the change was necessary because a station in Puerto Rico interfered with WCVI-TV's broadcast signal as it operated on Channel 27.
WCVI-TV manager Victor Gold said that the station switched its over-the-air signal from Channel 27 to Channel 39 on Dec. 14. "That's if you've got rabbit ears," he said.
Dunn said that no change is anticipated at Innovative Cable TV in St. Croix.
UPN broadcasts "America's Top Model," which Gold said is the top show for females ages 18 to 34. Other shows in the line-up include "The Parker," "All of Us," "One on One," "Eve," "Girlfriend," "Half N Half," and "WWE Smackdown!"
"It's the No. 1 network in African American households," Gold said.
WCVI-TV began broadcasting on March 1, 2000. To learn more about the station, visit their Web site.
