Airport Area Road Work to Begin Tuesday

July 19, 2004 – Road repairs are scheduled to begin Tuesday on Route 64 at the west access entrance to Henry E. Rohlsen Airport and east of the old Exxon fuel depot, Government House announced on Monday.
V.I. Paving Inc. will be excavating and repairing an area of the roadway that "has failed due to the unstable subsurface that exists in this particular area," a release stated.
Work will be taking place between 8:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. and is expected to take several days. Sections of the road will be reduced to one-lane traffic during most of the day, and detour signs will be posted. Motorists heading for the airport are advised to use the east intersection.
