Aug. 7, 2004 – The University of the Virgin Islands Bulletin Board issued July 5 has these announcements:

Reichhold Youth Movie Making Workshop to Premiere Films on Aug. 7

Two free films produced by students in UVI's fourth annual Youth Movie Making Workshop will be presented on Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Reichhold Center for the Arts on UVI's St. Thomas campus. Included are a documentary titled "Not My Paradise" and a comedy named "The Miss-Conception." Showtime is 7 p.m.
Twelve students from St. Thomas, St. Croix and St. John participated in the seven-week workshop. Participants are Keryn Callender, Victoria Cornelius, Calis Cuthbertson, Claude Allan Francis, Tigre James, Makeda Leonard, Sebastian Montague, Bianca Mosica-Harley, Lamarr Parson, Caprisha Richards, Jessica Saintibert and Elisa Thomas. The instructor is Philadelphia-based independent filmmaker Ryan Saunders. He was assisted by Richard Vialet, Jr., a local film student studying cinematography at Howard University.
The program is funded in part by the V.I. Law Enforcement Planning Commission, the V.I. Community Foundation and the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation. For details contact Denise Humphrey at 693-1550.
CES Offers Computer, Record-keeping Course for St. Croix Farmers
A free, ten-week course for St. Croix farmers on Computer Record-Keeping and Training will be offered by UVI's Cooperative Extension Service. Classes start Aug. 10 and will be conducted on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. in the CYFAR (Children, Youth and Families At-Risk) Lab, Room B-100 on UVI's St. Croix campus. UVI-CELL Announces Two Exam Preparation Courses on St. Thomas
UVI's Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning Center has announced two examination review courses on St. Thomas.
–LSAT Review Course
This prep course provides a way to gain exposure to the concepts that appear on the Law School Admission Test national exam. Classes will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays from Aug. 17 through Sept. 29. The fee is $495.
— CPA Review Course
This course is designed for individuals preparing to take the Certified Public Accountant Exam. It provides a comprehensive review and practical skills to prepare for the exam. The course will cover areas such as auditing and attestation, financial accounting and reporting, regulation, and business environment and concepts. Classes will be held from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays from Aug. 31 through Nov. 6. The fee of $1,195 includes four textbooks and software.

Reichhold Season Continues With Oliver Samuels from Aug. 13 to 15
UVI's Reichhold Center for the Arts 2004 season continues on Friday, Aug. 13, at Island Center on St. Croix with a performance by Oliver Samuels & Company in Patrick Brown's comedy "Christopher Cum-Buck-Us." The production moves to St. Thomas' Reichhold Center with shows scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 14 and 15. All shows begin at 8 p.m.
Tickets are available on St. Croix at People's Drug Store (Sunny Isles), Pier 69 (Frederiksted), Urban Threadz (Christiansted), the Reichhold Center ticketing office via telephone and the UVI Bookstore. On St. Thomas tickets are available at Modern Music (both locations), Krystal Gifts Galore (Tutu Park Mall), Parrot Fish (Back Street), the UVI Bookstore and the Reichhold Center ticketing office. On St. John tickets are available at Connections. For information call 693-1559.
