Town Meeting with Police Comissioner is Aug. 20

Aug. 17, 2004 – Police Commissioner Elton Lewis has scheduled town meetings Friday evening on St. Thomas and next Tuesday evening on St. Croix to share his vision for the Police Department and to discuss ways of improving services.
The St. Thomas meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Charlotte Amalie High School gymnasium.
The St. Croix one is to take place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Education Complex auditorium.
"When you come out, please bring a neighbor or a friend with you, because your input is vitally needed," Lewis said in a release issued Tuesday afternoon.
At a town meeting held recently on St. John, Lewis said, he and his staff heard residents' concerns and suggestions about how to address them.
Additional information is posted on the V.I. Police Department Web site, Lewis said. To learn more, call 774-2310 on St. Thomas or 778-2211, ext. 4501 on St. Croix.
