V.I. Promoting 'Fall into America's Caribbean'

Aug. 23, 2004 – The Tourism Department in conjunction with the V.I. Hotel and Tourism Association has launched an autumn promotion titled "Fall into America's Caribbean."
Travelers are being offered a complimentary room upgrade (based on availability) and their fifth night free at participating hotels; a four-day car rental for the price of three days from participating rental agencies; a coupon book offering $500 in discounts at shops, restaurants and attractions; and, from the Tourism Department, a $50 American Express traveler's cheque.
The enticements are for travel between Aug. 31 and Dec. 15, and reservations must be booked with a travel agent by Nov. 15. Blackout dates apply at some properties.
"It is an honor to once again partner with the U.S. Virgin Islands Hotel and Tourism Association for this special travel promotion," Monique Sibilly-Hodge, Tourism assistant commissioner, said in a release from Martin Public Relations, the territory's mainland publicity agency.
The participating hotels and resorts are:
St. Thomas – Antilles Resorts/The Anchorage, Antilles Resorts/Point Pleasant, Antilles Resorts/Sapphire Village, Best Western Carib Beach Resort, Best Western Emerald Beach Resort, Bolongo Bay Beach Club, Holiday Inn Windward Passage, Marriott Frenchman's Reef Beach Resort, Sapphire Beach Resort and Marina, Secret Harbour Beach Resort and Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort and Spa.
St. Croix – The Buccaneer Hotel, Antilles Resorts/Club St. Croix, Antilles Resorts/Colony Cove, Carambola Beach Resort, Chenay Bay Beach Resort, Divi Carina Bay Beach Resort, Hotel Caravelle, King Christian Hotel and Sugar Beach Resort.
St. John – Westin Resort and Villas.
The participating vehicle rental companies are:
St. Thomas – Amalie Car Rental, Avis Car Rental, Budget Rent a Car and Tri Island Car Rental.
St. Croix – Avis, Budget and Judi of Croix.
St. John – Avis and Cool Breeze Jeep Rental.
