'Teens On The Green' Getting Organized

Sept. 1, 2004 – More than 140 youngsters and 200 adults will arrive from more than 50 countries to compete starting Nov. 4 for the World Championship 'Teens On the Green.'
This event will be broadcast on the CBS network. It is the first network telecast of a sporting event in the Virgin Islands since the Americas Paradise Triathlon on NBC, which was also created and produced by Renny Roker in 1988-1989, a release said.
Persons can be a part of this event by becoming a sponsor and or volunteer. Two Sept. 2 meetings have been announced:
— At 4 p.m., junior golfers of St. Croix will meet with "Teens On The Green" personnel to discuss their opportunities to earn scholarships to college, greet the international junior golfers and, in some cases, participate in the World Championship.
— At 6 p.m. at the Carambola Golf Course Clubhouse, adults will meet to discuss the various volunteer positions, and available sponsorship positions.
