Special Arrangements Made for Green Waste on 2 Islands

Sept. 16, 2004 — A solid waste collection schedule has been announced for St. Croix and St. John in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Jeanne.
A release from Government House Thursday afternoon said the Anguilla .Landfill on St, Croix, closed at 11 a.m. Thursday, September, but would "possibly" resume regular business hours on Friday.
In the meantime, all large bin sites located at Cotton Valley, Peter's Rest, Mon Bijou and Concordia, will temporarily accept green waste, such as debris, branches and shrubbery. The green waste is to be bundled and placed on the ground in designated areas, the release said. The bin site at Salt River will also be accepting green waste in specially designated bins.
The St. John bin sites are also available for the acceptance of daily household waste. All green waste is to be taken directly to the Susannaberg transfer station.
The release made no mention of what to do with green waste on St. Thomas.
