Reminder: Don't Have Generators Connected to WAPA

Sept. 17, 2004 — The V.I. Water and Power Authority is asking residents to verify that emergency generators in their homes or businesses are not connected to WAPA's distribution system, according to spokeswoman Cassandra Dunn.
The point is "to prevent feedback that can be hazardous to our line crews working on the system," Dunn said. "If your generator is connected to the distribution system, you must remove it by opening the main circuit breaker at the meter box to prevent feedback."
For more information, contact Dunn at 773-2250, ext. 4085.
