Sept. 21, 2004 – Ruffin Louis Spratley Jr., affectionately known as "Bubba" or "Paps," died Sept. 14 at his residence on Silke Gade in Savan at the age of 81. He had lived on St. Thomas for 40 years.
Viewing will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel, followed immediately by the funeral at the chapel. Burial will be in Western Cemetery No. 3.
He is survived by his sisters, Cora S. Millin of St. Thomas and Bertharine S. Francis and Evangeline S. Slade, both of Newport News, Va.; brother, Edison Bruce Spratley of St. Thomas; many nieces and nephews both on the mainland and in the Virgin Islands; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
