Late Registration for New Students Continues Through Jan. 19
Late Registration has been extended through Jan. 19, 2005, for students who did not register on time or for students whose classes were cancelled due to non-payment. In addition to tuition and fees, a late registration fee of $75 will be charged. Jan. 21 is Deadline for UVI Students to Apply for National Student Exchange Program
The application deadline for University of the Virgin Islands students who would like to participate in the National Student Exchange (NSE) program is Friday, Jan. 21. As part of the NSE program, selected students attend one of the 117 participating colleges or universities for one semester or one academic year. UVI sophomores, juniors and seniors who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible to participate. For more information or to receive an application, call Andrea Hamm at 693-1136.
SBDC Plans Time Management Seminar on St. Thomas for Jan. 19
UVI's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will present a seminar titled "Time Management: A Key to Your Success" from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 19, at the SBDC Training Facility at Nisky Center on St. Thomas. The seminar is designed for potential business owners, business owners, students and employees. Admission is $20. Individuals who pre-register will receive a $5 discount. UVI and high school students with an I.D. and UVI employees are admitted free, however, they must pre-register. To pre-register or for more information contact the SBDC at 776-3206.
Student Organization Registration, Orientation Set. Jan. 21 on St. Thomas Campus
Friday, Jan. 21, is the deadline for student organizations on the St. Thomas campus to register with the Student Activities Office. An orientation meeting for organization executive members and advisors — as well as executive members, resident assistants and committee chairs who missed the fall orientation session — is scheduled for noon on Friday, Jan. 21, in Business Education Room 101. A meeting for all leaders will follow at 1 p.m. in Business Education Room 110.
Student organizations are expected provide a list of activities for the spring 2005 semester in order to prepare an activities calendar. Each group is also asked to select a person who will be the organization's representative on the Campus Activities Board. For more information, contact the Student Activities Office at 693-1111.
Part-time University of the Virgin Islands Writing Specialists Needed
The Humanities Division on UVI's St. Thomas campus is seeking English majors with at least a B.A. to tutor UVI students with their English and composition skills through one-on-one sessions. Tutors may work from 10-20 hours a week at a competitive hourly wage. For more information, please contact Kristin Rozzell at 693-1359.
