Community Alert: Power Out in Small Area Until Midnight

Feb. 16, 2005 – The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority is experiencing an outage on a small section of Feeder 3 on St. Croix.
The outage occurred at 1:55 p.m. when four utility poles were knocked down by a V. I. Paving Heavy Equipment tractor trailer in Estate Catherine's Rest, according to a release from the authority. Feeder 3, which provides service to areas such as Catherine's Rest, Beeston Hill, Golden Rock, Rosegate and Humbug was left without electrical service for almost two hours until sections of Feeder 3 were tied to Feeder 4.
Sections of Catherine's Rest, Bugsby Hole, Work and Rest and Hermon Hill are expected to be without power until approximately midnight while repair crews replace the broken poles.
