News Brief: V.I. Tourism Reps in New York City

March 3, 2005 – Commissioner of Tourism Pamela C. Richards has announced that the United States Virgin Islands Department of Tourism will participate in the New York Times Travel Show March 4 to 6, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
Representing the Tourism Department will be Henry de Lagarde, general manager for North America, and Gwen Rivera. Representatives of both Cruzan Rum and the U.S. Virgin Islands Hotel & Tourism Association will also attend.
According to a release from Tourism, the New York Times show draws more than 25,000 travel enthusiasts, and 5,000 travel professionals.
"The New York Times Travel Show is an ideal forum for showcasing the captivating beauty, intriguing culture and the immense diversity of the U.S. Virgin Islands to travelers and top professionals in the travel industry," Richards stated.
