CHA President to Address U.S.V.I. Group on St. Thomas

March 7, 2005 – Berthia Parle, President of the Caribbean Hotel Association, will be the keynote speaker for the U.S. V.I. Hotel and Tourism Association's annual membership meeting. The meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, March 16, at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef, is open to the public. It is an opportunity to provide the community with industry and association updates.
"We feel fortunate that Mrs. Parle is able to share the 2005 CHA agenda with our members and guests," V.I. association president Beverly Nicholson said. "This aggressive agenda addresses issues applicable to the U.S.V.I. and we wanted to assemble a local audience to hear these ideas firsthand and offer input."
Parle is a 30-year hospitality veteran and is the first female president of CHA. A noted industry professional, she has served as president of the St. Lucia Hotel & Tourism Association; director and officer of the CHA, and chairperson of the CHA Small Hotels Committee and CHA Advisory Committee. She was awarded the honor of Member of the Order of the British Empire, MBE, last year by Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II of England.
To RSVP or for more information on the meeting, call the Association office at 774-6835 by March 9. There is a $20 fee for non-members.
