Governor Re-nominates McAlpin to V.I. Casino Control Commission

April 1, 2005 — Governor Charles W. Turnbull has given a vote of confidence to Lloyd M. McAlpin, head of the V.I. Casino Control Commission, District of St. Croix, by nominating him to the post for a second time. McAlpin has served as commissioner for the past four years, moving into that position from the V.I. Legislature, where he was assistant executive director. He also has held positions as executive assistant commissioner of labor, deputy administrator for St. Croix and senior deputy clerk with the Territorial (Superior) Court of the Virgin Islands.
McAlpin earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Howard University and has participated in several professional development and educational gaming seminars. His nomination is awaiting confirmation by the Legislature.
