Manno's Owner Found Stabbed to Death

June 23, 2005 – Little is known about the stabbing death of Edbert Emanuel Stewart, 63, owner of Manno's restaurant on the north eastern edge of the Fort Christian parking lot in Charlotte Amalie.
Stewart was found lying in a pool of blood by his wife, when she returned to their home at Heritage Condominiums about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
There were no signs of forced entry, Sgt. Thomas Hannah, Police Department public information officer, said Thursday morning.
"We are trying to determine what happened," Hannah said.
Stewart's wife is not a suspect "at this time," Hannah added.
"This is a severe multiple stabbing situation. A woman was not involved in this."
Police personnel were upset by Stewart's death, Hannah said. Manno's is a favorite spot for food and conversation for police officers. Manno's is across the street from the Police Department at the Alexander A. Farrelly Justice Complex.
