June 29, 2005 Epiphany Theater Company on St. John needs six women, seven men, a person who plays the clarinet and another one with saxophone skills to act in its summer performances.
"It's just fun. It's good camaraderie and gives you something to do," publicist Carole DeSenne said Wednesday.
The performances also raise money for the theater group.
DeSenne said that plays provide an opportunity for people who want to learn how to direct. Additionally, people are needed to handle props, build sets, develop costumes, and provide public relations.
DeSenne said experience is not necessary and anyone may audition.
Auditions will be held July 14 and 15 at 6:30 p.m. and July 16 and 17 at 2 p.m. All four auditions will be held at the Bellevue Village Community Center on Gifft Hill Road.
Performances run August 26, 27 and 28 at the Bellevue Village Community Center.
The plays, all comedies, are grouped together as "Utter Nonsense." The first three are by David Ives. They include "Time Flies," a play about two May flies who discover while watching a nature program that their one-day life is half over. Ives' "Enigma Variations" is about nuts going in circles during therapy. The third Ives play, "Words, Words, Words," is a play about monkeys using a typewriter to write Shakespeare.
The fourth play is "Quarrel," a story about hippies reliving the past. DeSenne did not have the author's name.
