Newly Appointed U.S. Attorney General Jenkins to Speak at Hotel & Tourism Association

July 9, 2005 – The United States Virgin Islands Hotel & Tourism Association (HTA) announces that US Attorney General Anthony J. Jenkins will be the guest speaker at the Wednesday, July 20, general membership meeting. The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort & Spa and is open to the public.
Attorney Jenkins had been serving as Acting U.S. Attorney since August 2004, after the resignation of Attorney David Nissman. Jenkins has served as a federal prosecutor for the past 15 years, dividing his time between Florida and St. Thomas. A graduate of Troy State University and Mercer University School of Law, Jenkins also served in the U.S. Army where he received the prestigious "Army Commendation Medal."
"We think that this is a positive appointment for our judicial system, said President of the HTA Beverly Nicholson. His experience with major law enforcement agencies and dedication to the U.S.V.I. makes him a powerful new champion for safer communities."
To RSVP or for more information on the meeting, call the HTA office at 774-6835 by July 15.
