Boat Races Draw Big Crowd

Jan. 2, 2006 – By all accounts the 2005-2006 Crucian Christmas Festival boat and Jet Ski races were a resounding success. The race's organizer, Deon Malone, was all smiles after the event.
"It was good, we are looking forward to doing it again soon."
Malone estimates there were "well over" 4,000 spectators lining the beach in Frederiksted on New Year’s Day to see the races. Malone said he hopes to stage another race during the Easter season or in the summer.
Trophies were given out for the boat and Jet Ski winners at "Fergusville" Festival Village on Monday. Here are the results:

Off Shore Race
Tek Dat – Luis Cintron
Cool Attitude – Everette Sutton

Class A Race
Bad Card – Lucien Lake
Tek Dat – Luis Cintron

Class B Race
Mad Passion – Alvin Theophilus
Intimidator – Roger Charles

Class C Race
Mad Passion – Alvin Theophilus
Reel Smoke – Ellinton Maynard
Sonic – Freddie Pimintel
Power Play – Festus Pemberton,
Cool Attitude – Everette Sutton

1st Jet Ski Race
Edgar Bengoa – 1st place
Earl Charles – 2nd place

2nd Jet Ski Race
Forrest Thomas – 1st place
Francisco Navarro – 2nd place
