Richard W. Moore to Address Rotary Club of St. Thomas

Jan. 4, 2006 – Local economist, Richard W. Moore, Ph.D., will be speaking to the Rotary Club of St. Thomas at their Thursday, Jan. 5 meeting at 12:30 p.m., at Marriott's Frenchman's Reef.
Moore has 15 years of service in the Virgin Islands government and was part of the Juan Luis administration that negotiated the creation of the Economic Development Commission as part of the Tax Reform Act of 1986. During his talk, he plans to comment on the general condition of the V.I. economy and, in particular, the negative impact the changes made by the federal government will have on the EDC program.

He is currently Chief Executive Officer for Para technology, a business enterprise developing a cost-effective technology to use St. Croix's "red mud" for commercial purposes.
