What's Next on the Doug Lewis Show

Jan. 10, 2006 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN107.3 FM this Sunday, Jan. 15, form 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. This Sunday you will be entertained by Hank Williams, Rags and Bones, Anna Cheek, Rabbi Jonathan Kligler and more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is Hank Williams Gold, a two CD set collecting 42 tracks from Hank Williams. Virtually all of Hank Williams' essential recordings are included in this package.
The Indie Spotlight CD is Rags and Bones by acoustic blues artist Ernie Hawkins. Ernie has some gigs lined up in St. John at Island Blues during the third week of January. He is a fine guitarist and pays homage to the traditional blues greats like Reverend Gary Davis and Mississippi John Hurt with his music.
We include new music from folk artist Rod MacDonald, blues artist Zac Harmon, Carlos Guitarlos and more.
We also celebrate the birthdays of Ronnie Van Zandt of Lynrd Skynrd, and zydeco great Queen Ida and remember Junior Wells on the anniversary of his death.
We play music from Kim, Reggie Harris and Rabbi Jonathan Kligler, who will be appearing on Jan. 15, at Pistarckle Theater for a concert featuring selections from their CD Let My People Go.
We also play music from Anna Cheek, who is visiting the territory for a number of gigs beginning in mid-January. Kyle Esposito of that band also plays with Anna Cheek and will be part of Anna's band for her Virgin Islands visit. There will also be music from the Meg Johnson Band, Stevie Wonder, Arlo Guthrie, the Texas Tornadoes, Janiva Magness, and more.
We also include music from the Nighthawks, who will be appearing at this year's St. John Blues Festival.
Tune in for a chance to win Laughing in the Face of the Blues, an excellent new release from singer-songwriter Jack Williams and an opportunity to win the latest release from Don McLean. The release is called Rearview Mirror and is a combination CD/DVD set.
Due to phone problems with the usual number those who wish to try and win CD's can try an alternate phone number of 771-1757.
The Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line and Sinker, Molly Molones, and Steve Simon and the St. John Blues Festival.
Note:The station has been having some reception problems the last two Sundays with the sound clipping on and off at times. I have been informed that the station technician has hopefully permanently solved this problem.
