Dean C. Plaskett, commissioner of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources, announced Tuesday that the Division of Coastal Zone Management was inviting the public to visit the new Web site for the St. Croix East End Marine Park.
The Web site profiles park programs, management areas, maps, regulatory framework, education and outreach, documents and publications, and events. The site is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of St. Croix East End Marine Park, its history and current status.
The U.S. Virgin Islands' first marine park was established on Jan. 15, 2003, when Gov. Charles W. Turnbull signed Act No. 6572 into law. On Wednesday, Feb. 1, the Coastal Zone Management Commission will host a public hearing on the proposed Rules and Regulations for the park at 6 p.m. at the Curriculum Center, Kingshill.
