'Casablanca' Night to Raise Funds for AZ Academy

Feb. 24, 2006 – The AZ Academy on St. Croix presents a night of adventure, romance and glamour to raise funds for the school's scholarship program. "A Night in Casablanca" will be held March 11 from 6 to 10 pm in the Great House at the Nature Conservancy, La Grande Princesse.
A Moroccan-inspired buffet, a cash bar, the big band sounds of Santa Cruz Brass, and both silent and live auctions will be part of the event, which aims to recreate Rick's Cafe Americain from the movie "Casablanca."
The AZ Academy is a small, Middle States accredited, private school that aims to develop every child through small group instruction and by focusing attention on the individual needs of its multi-cultural and diverse learners.
The educational program at AZ Academy is designed to support the physical, emotional, social and intellectual education of the whole child by endorsing healthy lifestyles, developing creativity and self-expression, fostering character development and by encouraging academic exploration in an environment that respects the unique strengths of the individuals.
Tickets for "A Night in Casablanca" are $75. Reservations can be made by calling AZ Academy at 773-7909. Corporate tables and group reservations are also available.
