News Brief: Governor Proclaims Thursday Bertha Boschulte Day

March 28, 2006 — In a press release Tuesday, Gov. Charles W. Turnbull has proclaimed Thursday, March 30, 2006, as Bertha Christina Boschulte Day in the territory.
"This great native daughter … served as an educator, civic leader, legislator, business professional and community patron. It is most fitting and appropriate that we celebrate the life and legacy of Bertha Christina Boschulte on Virgin Islands History Month, Women's History Month, as well as Virgin Islands Cultural Day," the governor said.
The observance notes that this Thursday marks the 100th anniversary of Boschulte's birth.
