Colloquium, Concert Planned to Honor Alton Adams
A colloquium and concert are planned to honor the late V.I. bandmaster Alton Augustus Adams Sr., who was recently posthumously granted membership in the American Bandmasters Association.
The colloquium investigating and honoring Adams' role in the Virgin Islands will take place on May 10 and 11 at Bertha C. Boschulte Middle School.
A special concert by the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Band of Washington, D.C., who will play several of Adams' compositions, is scheduled for the evening of May 12. The concert will also take place at the middle school.
