Police Make Arrest in 2005 Killing

April 4, 2006 – Police have arrested a Hospital Ground man in the August 2005 shooting death of Francisco Stephens.
Stephens, 27, was found fatally wounded near a bar on Kronprindsens Gade at about 2 a.m. Aug. 23, 2005.
Husani Donovan is being held without bail, pending an advice of rights hearing, in connection with the homicide.
However, a press release from Shawna K. Richards, public information officer for the V.I. Police Department, did not indicate what Donovan had been charged with.
Reports at the time of the incident indicated that Stephens died at Schneider Regional Medical Center some time after being shot multiple times (See "Police Identify Shooting Victim").
Sgt. Roberto Lima, supervisor of the Major Crime Unit, said Donovan's arrest was the result of good police work and community involvement, according to the release.
"Information reported by the community was critical to this investigation and enabled the department to make this arrest," Lima said.
He also encouraged people to come forward with information they might have about other unsolved crimes. "It is often the break we need to solve the case," Lima said.
