Eugene Sello Winner of FirstBankVI T-shirt Contest

April 25, 2006 — FirstBankVI announced Tuesday Eugene Sello is the winner of its annual Carnival T-Shirt art contest. Sello, an 11th-grader, was one of several students in the art program at Ivanna Eudora Kean High School who submitted entries of original artwork depicting the traditional aspects of St. Thomas Carnival, surrounding this year's theme: “Glamour and Glitz for Carnival 2006," a release from the bank said.
Entries were distributed anonymously to FirstBank employees on both St. Thomas and St. John. It was the employees votes that determined the winner. A monetary donation was presented to the art department at I.E.K.H.S. for their hard work and participation in the contest.
The artwork was printed on T-shirts and distributed to the employees at FirstBank and its subsidiaries. This is the seventh year that FirstBank has partnered with a local school for the contest, which is a partnership created by FirstBank's Marketing Department as part of a continued effort to support the local talent, while promoting the importance of preserving the cultural heritage of the Virgin Islands community.
