Telephone Service Restoration Continues After Box Damage

May 22, 2006 – Innovative Telephone asks customers who are still experiencing telephone problems after Friday's suspected acts of vandalism disrupted service to call the repair line and report the problems.
President and Chief Executive Officer David L. Sharp said in a news release Monday that service has been restored to more than 1,000 customers.
"However, we need the cooperation of all customers that are still experiencing problems to notify us immediately," he said. "Please call the 912 repair line to report your problems."
The service was disrupted Friday morning when eight cross-connect boxes were damaged in an act of suspected vandalism.
A $10,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for the damage, Sharp said.
The release included a list of the status of repairs, which appears below:
–University of the Virgin Islands and Lower Love – Essentially complete
–Castle Burke/ New Works/Golden Grove – Essentially complete
–Central High and surrounding areas – In progress
–Estate La Reine – Essentially complete
–Constitution Hill and Peter's Rest – In progress
–Gallows Bay – Essentially complete
–Southgate and surrounding areas – In progress
–Concordia and surrounding areas – Essentially complete
