Hintz Academy Offers Summer Enrichment Program

June 2, 2006 – This summer Hintz Academy is offering an enrichment program to fit the needs of virtually every child. Musical Enrichment Camp will be held from June 12 to June 30. The registration deadline is June 6. The program is open to children ages 6 and older. In addition, private instruction is available on Saturdays for both children and adults. After-camp care and lunch programs may be provided on request.
Instruments include piano, violin, viola, cello, guitar, saxophone, clarinet, flute, drums, voice, bells and more. This course is an in-depth approach on innovative ideas for practice techniques, quality performance, organizational skills, and performance strategies. Other elements in the curriculum include ear training, music theory, history and appreciation, dance, arts and crafts, world music and instrument maintenance.
At the end of this program, children will be showcasing their talents and accomplishments with a recital on June 29. Katherine said that music is the primary focus of this camp. Therefore, participating students should have previous exposure to music instruction. However, she is now opening a branch in the curriculum to allow beginner students to participate. The only requirement is that each student has a strong desire to learn.
The Academy also has a program made especially for toddlers ages 18 months to 4 years old called Summer Musikgarten. This program is held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Tuesdays through Thursdays, June 8 – June 29. The major elements include introductory music, early dance, arts and crafts, singing, exploring instruments and more. This camp is an ideal introduction to the arts. The registration deadline is June 2.
