Federal Jury Convicts Man of Attempted Robbery, Grand Larceny

June 7, 2006 — A federal jury has convicted Scott Chamberlain, 57, of attempted robbery of U.S. currency and grand larceny, according to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice.
The charges arose out of incidents in November 2004 when Chamberlain attempted to rob the Alvaro de Lugo Post Office of U.S. currency and stole an Omega watch from Jewels.
Chamberlain could receive up to 10 years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine for the attempted robbery charge and an additional 10 years for the theft of the watch.
