Am I a True Virgin Islander?

Dear Source:
Virgin Islanders ponder this, and then tell me if I am a true Virgin Islander. I am a wealthy businessman from any country you wish, besides the United States. I just happen to be vacationing in St. Thomas for three weeks. After having been there for the three weeks, I return to my country and I make the necessary preparations to buy out Innovative Telephone. Having successfully bought out this wonderful company, I decide to change their business practices, and provide excellent customer service, improve the quality of the services we provide, and basically become a company that keeps it's promises. My company pays all it's taxes and is the example of a good corporate partner in the community; however, as a result of buying out Innovative, I decide reduce the work force, by 30%. I also decide to replace upper level management with some of my countrymen. Moving ahead into the future I also decide that 80% of any new hires that the company employs will be my countrymen also, and by the way, I don't live on St.Thomas, but I may visit occasionally a few times a year. This is the way that I feel is best to run the new Innovative Telephone.
Now, as elections roll around I of course being the owner of a prominent business in the community feel that I should have the right to vote and influence the outcome of the elections, so I will make whatever financial contributions that I feel I need to make to do so. I also, by the way, feel that I would be as good a senator, governor or any other political official I may want to be as anyone else. I feel that I have contributed to the community for 5 years now in a positive way, and I deserve the opportunity. I feel that I am a true Virgin Islander.
Now Virgin Islanders, you tell me if I am a true Virgin Islander? Tell me if I am the person of character that you want leading you into the future of your islands. Also, tell me that this type scenario has not already happened in the islands, then tell me if you support or don't support this very thing happening in your community. How do you think you can stop it? You're kids future depends on you making the right decision.
