Man Killed During 'Sting' Operation

June 23, 2006 – An unidentified man who was the subject of a sting operation was shot and killed by a police officer around 10 p.m. Thursday in Hospital Ground.
The victim allegedly approached the undercover agents who were in an unmarked vehicle in an apparent attempt to rob them.
According to Sgt. Thomas Hannah, police spokesman. the man had "something wrapped in a yellow towel."
An unidentified police officer shot him in the chest.
The officer – who police wouldn't name – has been placed on administrative leave until the matter is resolved, Hannah said early Friday morning.
