Fort Frederik Museum is Open for Emancipation Exhibit

June 30, 2006 – The Department of Planning and Natural Resources announced that the Fort Frederik Museum will be open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., on Friday, June 30, for the opening of the historic exhibit: "Emancipation: A look at our Past to Give a Vision for the Future," in conjunction with the art exhibit "St. Croix's Maroon Coast: Artists Impressions." These exhibits are sponsored by the Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow Emancipation Committee, according to a press release from DPNR.
The museum will also be open on Monday, July 3, in celebration of the 158th anniversary of Emancipation.
The public is invited to tour the fort and the exhibitions for free during the holiday celebration. The Fort will be open from noon until 4 p.m. The United Caribbean Association will have events at the museum from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., on July 3.
