St. Thomas Businessman Shot and Killed in His Office

July 5, 2006 – St. Thomas businessman Shakir Alexander was shot and killed Wednesday morning at the National White Collar Investigation and Collection Bureau at the Cassi Hill East business center in Smith Bay.
A fellow employee discovered Alexander, 28, lying in a pool of blood in a second-floor office. According to one police source, Alexander had been shot in the head area.
Officers were called to the scene shortly after 11 a.m., but the exact time of the shooting has not been verified. Alexander is St. Thomas' 12th homicide victim of the year.
Police cordoned off the area and spent several hours interviewing people in the area.
Along with handling investigations and collections, two sources said Alexander had a tow truck and had recently gone into the automobile repossession business.
Police are asking anyone with information on this or any other crimes to call the Major Crime Unit at (340) 715-5534, 715-5546 or the hotline at 715-5544.
