Residential Property Tax Bills to Be Delayed

July 5, 2006 – Although residential property tax bills were due out in June, there's been a delay, Lt. Gov. Vargrave Richards said Tuesday at St. John's July 4th Celebration.
"They will go out shortly," Richards said. However, he declined to name a specific date.
Richards said the due date will be extended from its usual August deadline.
He said there was a logistical problem in the Tax Assessor's office that prevented the staff from getting them out on time.
Numerous calls placed Monday and Wednesday to Tax Assessor Roy Martin were not returned.
