Brief: Governor Proclaims Period of Mourning for Former Sen. Anduze

July 7, 2006 — Gov. Charles W. Turnbull has proclaimed a period of mourning, from sunrise Friday until sunset, for the passing of former Sen. Aubrey Anduze. All flags on government buildings will be flown at half-staff, and Turnbull has requested that private residents do likewise.
Anduze, who was also a dentist on St. Croix, was born on St. Thomas in 1917. He graduated from Washington, D.C.'s Dunbar High School and received a dentistry degree from Howard University.
Anduze was the first person to establish a modern dentistry practice on St. Croix.
Anduze died last Friday, June 30, on St. Croix.
