V.I. All-Stars Finish a Disappointing Fourth in Big League World Series

July 16, 2006 – Venezuela walked all over the V.I. Big League All-Star team, defeating them in the bronze medal game, 8-4 in the Latin American region of the Big League World Series.
The V.I.'s starting pitcher, LeShawn Lettsome, walked four batters and hit another in a six-run third inning for the Venezuelans. The V.I. stopped its streak of multiple-error games, but the walks did them in.
The V.I. also did not capitalize on many scoring opportunities, leaving the bases loaded in the first inning and stranding two runners apiece in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings.
The V.I. All-Stars finish the tournament as the fourth-place team. Panama defeated the Dominican Republic 3-2 to advance to the Big League World Series.
