UVI-SBDC Will Present 'Doing Business with EPA'

July 25, 2006 – The University of the Virgin Islands and the Small Business Development Center in partnership with the U. S. Small Business Administration will present a free seminar for small minority and women-owned businesses on how to follow the money. The purpose of the seminar is to show small businesses how to pursue contract opportunities with the federal government and on EPA's new Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (WEB).
The seminar will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 11, at the UVI-St. Croix Campus in room EC-401 (The Little Theater). Lunch will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., and participants will be on their own. Space is limited to the first 100 enrollees.
Topics will include: grantee requirements with minority and women-owned businesses; an overview of EPA's new DBE rule and certification requirements; your company's capabilities statement; subcontracting with prime contractors and much more.
