Commission on the Status of Women Will Hold Conference

July 27, 2006 – The Commission on the Status of Women, WTJX and the Virgin Islands Department of Tourism will host a Women Speak Conference. Speakers from across the V. I., the United States and the Caribbean will convene to address women's issues in the 21st century. Paula Cox, the minister of finance from Bermuda, will deliver the keynote address. The event will be held from Aug. 24-26, at the Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort on St. Thomas.
The conference is intended to be an arena for women to gather information and discuss women in all the professions and to encourage women to assume leadership roles in the V.I. Topics will include: leadership, career strategy, work/life balance, finances, technology, spirituality, health care, communication between the sexes, the legal system, building networks and more.
Participants may pre-register by mail. Mail a check payable to St. Croix Foundation to: Virgin Islands Commission on the Status of Women, Post Office Box 222736, Christiansted, V.I. 00822.
