VIWMA Do-It-Yourself Used Oil Sites Scheduled

July 27, 2006 – The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority reminds residents that the Do-it-yourself Used Oil Collection Sites only accept used motor oil. Cooking oil, transmission fluid, freon, brake fluid and other oils are not accepted at any site. Residents are asked to cease bringing cooking oils and other unacceptable fluids to the DIY sites and to arrange for their disposal through the use of private waste disposal haulers.
The DIY sites are for the use of residents who change the motor oil in the cars, lawn motors, boats and other motorized equipment. Up to five gallons per person can be brought to the sites each month.
St. Croix: Public Works Compound, Anna's Hope. 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
For more information, contact the Division of Solid Waste at 777-3073.
