VIPD Make Arrest in Triple Homicide at Banana Split Bar

July 27, 2006 — The Major Crime Unit of the V.I. Police Department has arrested Enos E. Hughes in connection with the June 18 triple homicide at the Banana Split Bar and Grill on Brookman Road, St. Thomas (See "Two Dead, Two Injured After Shooting in Bar"). Hughes, 36, is a resident of Estate Mariendal.
Hughes and a second gunman are alleged to have entered the bar and opened fire in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 18.
Edgar Eustace, Trevor Louis and Lennox Weeks died from multiple gunshot wounds sustained during the shooting. A fourth man, Zachaus Williams, was critically injured.
Hughes has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder, felony murder, attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, mayhem and five counts of using an unlicensed firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
Bail for Hughes has been set at $500,000 by Superior Court Judge Audrey Thomas Francis.
Police are currently pursuing leads on the identity of the second gunman.
