National Health Center Week Events Aug. 7 – Aug. 11
St. Thomas East End Medical Center in the Tutu Park Mall will hold free health screenings to underscore the vital role of community health centers, which are in their 40th year of caring for the nation's medically underserved and uninsured. The event is part of a weeklong celebration of National Health Center Week 2006 (Aug. 7-11)
The following free services are offered during National Health Center Week: Monday—-HIV testing; Tuesday—pregnancy testing fitness; Wednesday—blood pressure checks; Thursday—nutritionist counseling; ACCU checks; raffle for machines; Friday—cholesterol screening; pediatric dental screens with an appointment.
