Poet, Playwright Ntozake Shange to Visit St. Croix
Ntozake Shange, who won an Obie Award in 1976 for the off-Broadway for her play "for colored girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf," which explores the experience of African-American women from childhood into adulthood in the twentieth century will visit St. Croix in August to help From Page to Stage, a new theatrical company on the island, kick off its Main Stage Season. This will be the first play in From Page to Stage's season, and will open on Friday, Aug. 11, at Good Hope School's James C. Savage Theater
The play will be presented at 8 p.m., on Aug. 11, 12, 18, and 19 and at 4 p.m., on Aug. 13. Tickets for the show are $15 for adults and $8 for students.
