Aug. 4, 2006 – Leona E. Smith Almestica of St. Thomas and Tortola died on July 31, in Olney, Md. She was 74 years old.
She is survived by her daughter, Minerva A. Holloway; son-in-law, Steven D. Holloway; granddaughters: Kendal, Kourtney and Kristen Holloway; and step- children: Celestina, Keith, and Karen Almestica. She is also survived by brothers: Pedro, Alfredo, Felipe, Benito, Mario and Silvio Smith; sisters: Thelma Smith, Graciela Smith and Iris Edwards; as well as many relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Thursday, Aug. 10, at Davis Funeral Home. A second viewing will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., on Friday, Aug. 11, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with a funeral service following at 10 a.m., at the church. Interment will be at Western Cemetery No. 1.
