Aug. 8, 2006 — The 2006-2007 School Calendar is now available for parents, educators, students and other interested persons, according to a release from the Education Department.
The annual school calendar — which primarily contains information regarding important public school student and personnel reporting dates, marking period schedules, holidays and observances for the upcoming school year — now reinforces legislative mandates and includes policies related to instructional hours, a release from Education said.
The 2006 school year begins with the return of students on Monday, Aug. 28. Parents and guardians are reminded that at the start of the academic year, announcements related to individual school orientations will be made.
Copies of the school calendar can be obtained at the superintendents' offices in each district. The schedule will also appear on VITV Channel 10 (STT-STJ) and Channel 6 (STX) and on the department Web site.
