Aug. 12, 2006 – The Virgin Islands Police Department and the Division of Personnel have announced the three dates for the Police Officers Entrance Examination to be given on the island of St. Croix. Police candidates must register and pick up the study guide prior to the scheduled test dates, according to a press release from VIPD.
Registration Deadlines are Aug. 17, 2006; Oct. 19, 2006; and Jan. 18, 2007.
Test Dates are Aug. 23-25, 2006; Oct. 25-27, 2006; and Jan. 24-26, 2007.
Prospective police candidates should have U.S. citizenship, possess a high school diploma or its equivalent, be at least 20 years of age and have no criminal record. Candidates must also have a driver's license or be able to qualify for one.
Those who successfully pass the written examination will also be required to demonstrate physical fitness and agility and pass a psychological and physical exam.
Off-island candidates intending to take the exam can request that the study guide be mailed to them and are asked to remit a money order in the amount of $100 made payable to the Division of Personnel as a security deposit. Once the study guide is returned to the division, $80 will be refunded to the applicant.
