Brief: Carillo Tapped for PBS Board

Aug. 14, 2006 – Jose Raul Carillo, radio talk show host and special events coordinator at the University of the Virgin Islands, has been nominated to serve on the V.I. Public Television System board of directors.
In a release from Government House, acting Gov. Vargrave Richards said he had sent Carillo's name to the Legislature for approval.
Carillo, who served as the protocol officer for former Gov. Roy L. Schneider, is active in numerous organizations, including currently being president of the Family Resource Center on St. Thomas. He is also the chairman of the board of the V.I. Council on the Arts.
Carillo is the host of The Afternoon Mix on Radio One, 1000 AM.
If approved Carillo would serve a four-year term.
